Free Temporary Education Email Inbox

InstantEduMail gives you an education-focused temporary inbox on an education-styled domain. You choose a username, pick a domain, and the inbox exists immediately — no password, no personal details, nothing to install. Messages sent to that address appear in the reader on this page as they arrive.

It is built for a specific job: receiving mail you do not want in your personal mailbox. Sign-up confirmations for a platform you are only trying out, test messages from software you are building, one-off downloads, course-portal notifications, and anything else where the message matters more than the address. If you later want to keep the address, create a free account and the inbox becomes permanent instead of expiring.

Mail for our domains is accepted by our inbound mail routing, handed to our webhook, parsed, and stored against your inbox. Plain-text bodies are linkified so verification links stay clickable; HTML bodies are sanitised and rendered inside a sandboxed frame, so remote scripts in a message cannot touch the page around it. Attachments are stored separately and are only reachable by the inbox owner.

The inbox updates live while it is open, so a confirmation email usually shows up without you refreshing. If a message never arrives, it is almost always because the sending platform rejects addresses on shared or disposable domains — a limitation of this kind of inbox, not a fault you can configure away. Guest inboxes are deliberately short-lived: created without an account, they expire roughly two hours after creation and their messages go with them. That is the point of a throwaway address — it should not outlive the task.

Signed-in inboxes do not expire. Once you have an account, the address stays yours until you delete it, and you can delete individual messages or the whole inbox from the dashboard whenever you want. Nothing here is a backup system, so treat anything you need long-term as something to move somewhere permanent.

This is the most important thing on the page. An InstantEduMail address is not issued by a school, college or university. It is not an accredited institutional address, it does not prove you are enrolled anywhere, and it does not establish student status with any provider.

A university-issued address comes from the institution that admitted you, is tied to your student record, and can be checked against that record. Our domains cannot be, and providers who run real eligibility checks — usually through enrolment verification or a service like UNiDAYS or Student Beans — will reject them. Our student offers directory exists to point you at each provider's official page and tell you honestly what they require. Using a temporary address to try to bypass verification breaches our acceptable use policy.

If you build anything that sends mail, you need somewhere to receive it that is not your own account. A disposable inbox lets you run a registration flow end to end, read the raw message a template actually produced, check how an HTML email renders once it has been sanitised, confirm an attachment survived the pipeline, and repeat all of that with a fresh address whenever a test needs a clean state.

That is far better practice than testing against a personal mailbox: no polluted inbox, no accidental unsubscribes from a real account, no colleague's address hardcoded into a fixture. Start with email testing for developers and the guides in our blog.

The privacy benefit is real but narrow: you hand a service an address that is not connected to your identity, so it cannot be matched against your other accounts or sold on as part of your personal profile. The site and dashboard are served over TLS, and each inbox is readable only by its owner.

The limits are just as real. A temporary address is not encryption and not anonymity — message contents are stored so you can read them, and anything you type into a form on the far end still reaches that company. Never route password resets for accounts you care about, banking mail, medical records or identity documents through a disposable inbox. These inboxes receive mail; they are not a channel for bulk sending, harassment, fraud or evading a ban. We suspend inboxes and accounts used that way, and we act on reports.
